Terminology

Reel: The vertical columns on the slot machine where symbols appear.
Symbol: The images that appear on the reels, such as fruits, bells, numbers, or themed icons.
Payline: A line across the reels that determines winning combinations of symbols.
Bet: The amount of money wagered on a single spin.
Spin: The act of initiating a round by setting the reels into motion, which will then randomly stop to reveal a potential winning combination.
Win: When a spin results in a winning combination of symbols on an active payline.
Paytable: A chart displaying the value of each symbol combination and information about bonus features which can be found in the game rules section of the slot.
Autoplay: A feature that allows you to set the reels to spin automatically for a predetermined number of rounds at your chosen bet.

Wild Symbol: A symbol that can substitute for most other symbols to complete winning combinations, like a joker in a deck of cards.
Scatter Symbol: A symbol that often triggers bonus features like free spins or bonus rounds when you land a certain number of them, regardless of paylines.
Free Spins: A bonus feature that offers players a predetermined number of rounds without deducting funds from their balance, providing risk-free opportunities for winning combinations.
Multiplier: A multiplier in a slot increases the value of a winning combination by a predetermined factor.
Bonus Round: A special game within the slot that offers additional chances to win prizes, often triggered by specific symbol combinations.
Progressive Jackpot: A jackpot that increases in value with each bet placed on the machine, often pooled across multiple games, until it is won.
Megaways: Megaways slots offer thousands of ways to win on every spin thanks to a dynamic reel system where the number of symbols on each reel changes randomly.

Volatility (Variance): Indicates the risk level of a slot machine. High volatility slots have fewer, larger wins, while low volatility slots offer more frequent, smaller wins.
Hit Frequency: The percentage of spins that statistically result in a win.
